For 10 years, the musicians Anna Berbara Kastelewicz (beroque violin/ violin) and Arno Schneider (organ/ harpsichord) unite the common joy of playing on baroque instruments to the new beroque duo Berlin.
Together, they brought the theatrical music of the early beroque to life and inspire their audience with expressive interpritation. The two musicians specialize in the italian classics.
Due to their spontaneity, artistic sophistication and virtuosity, the new baroque duo Berlin is in demand not only nationally but internationally.
The violinist Anna Barbara Kastelewicz is working as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster.
With performances and concert tours around Europe and Asia she is present nationally as much as internationally.
She is playing and recording for broadcast, TV and various media-recordings.
Anna Barbara Kastelewicz received her musical education as a violinist at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler in Berlin and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Professor Yfrah Neamen. She undertook additional studies in baroque violin with Rachel Podger. Another study period led her to Professor Fuks at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, in the USA. She gained wide musical experience in various classical orchestras, such as the Konzerthaus Orchester Berlin and the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, as well as from working with conductors such as Kurt Masur and Lorin Maazel. Born in Berlin, she lives as a freelance artist in the city.
Anna Barbara Kastelewicz plays baroque violin and modern violin.
Her repertoire ranges from Renaissance to Contemporary and includes musicals and jazz.
On her baroque violin Anna Barbara Kastelewicz plays violin solo programmes of classical baroque literature – from early to high baroque.
With fondness she performs as a soloist, with orchestra, the concertos by Bach and Vivaldi.
Anna Barbara Kastelewicz designs Violin solo programmes on the modern violin that include works of contemporary music from 20th and 21st Century oeuvres and counteracts them with baroque compositions.
Arno Schneider – harpsichord
Besides his tutoring activity at the UdK-Berlin he plays regularly with numerous known choirs and orchestras, the Berliner Philharmonikern, the NDR-Radiophilharmonie, the Staatskapelle Dresden, Ensemble Resonanz , Musica Fiata and mny more. Also he participated in the CD-production of the Deutschen Symphonie-Orchesters, the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchesters or the NDR. Arno Schneider worked under prestigious conductors like Giovanni Antonini, Kent Nagano, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Andrew Manze, Ton Koopman and Reinhard Goebel.

For a long time, women’s compositions were not given much attention. But over the years many composers created wonderful music pieces. These compositions were undiscovered for a long time. In this concert program the works of different female composers are exposed, as well as the own history of the works and the women behind it.
The instrumentation Violin-Harpsichord can be complemented with the Viola da Gamba.

Margret Bahr – Soprano
Margret Bahr studied vocals with Professor Adele Stolte. Currently she works with the soprano Doerthe Maria Sandmann.
She went to a special music class and studied school music at the university of Greifswald with Armgart Grüner. She also graduated in german philologie from the FU Berlin and worked as a literary scholar.
Margret Bahr lives as a freelance sopran in Berlin.
