The new concert orchestra berlin was founded in 2009 and works project oriented.

It forms the counterpart to the new baroque orchestra berlin.

The orchestra’s repertoire comprises symphonic music and oratorios from the eighteenth to the twentieth century, aspiring to authentic, modern performance practice.

Moreover, the collaboration with contemporary composers features prominantly in the orchestra’s work. The Berlin first performance of Michael Renhart’s Requiem is one of its current projects.

The new concert orchestra berlin performs regularly in concert venues in Berlin (amongst others, Philharmonie and Konzerthaus Berlin) and in other venues throughout Germany.

The new concert orchestra berlinis led by violinist Anna Barbara Kastelewicz Anna Barbara Kastelewicz.

Besides their work in the orchestra, the members are also committed to chamber music, performing both in Germany and abroad. A recent tour took the musicians to Brasil.

The new concert orchestra berlin is celebrated for its lively, energetic interpretations, its stylistic versatility and passion for new discoveries.
