Die Supersonic Award-Winner Johanna Krumin (soprano) and Markus Zugehör (piano) are connected by an artistic partnership of more than ten years.
With various song programs they were invited internationally, e.g. to the German Culture Week Benin/Africa, to Vancouver/Canada, to Lyon/France as well as to the cooperation with the German Foreign Office.
A highlight of their joint work is their collaboration with Mikis Theodorakis. A fellow student of Pierre Boulez and Karl-Heinz Stockhausen, he had once studied in Paris with Olivier Messiaen and was hailed by “Le Monde” as the “New Strawinsky.”
Krumin and Zugehör’s CD Echowand, celebrating Theodorakis’ 90th birthday, travels back to Theodorakis’ musical roots. International critics praised, among other things, the fine sound design, the treatment of the lyrics and the sensitive music-making.
The CD Echowand was co-produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk and awarded the international recording prize Supersonic Award.
